ART TO ME
“With each one of my paintings I try to bring a bit of beauty into the world. Beauty in regards to esthetics, lies in the eyes of the beholder. Beauty in its core, such as the beauty of story-telling and the beauty of life itself always involves truthfulness, and is therefore universal. With that in mind, I try to do my small part in creating something beautiful.” – Leni Fuchs

ABOUT
Leni Fuchs was born in Vienna/Austria and stems from a family of artists. Her grandfather Ernst Fuchs, was a prominent Austrian painter and co-founder of the Vienna School of Phantastic Realism. Her parents Michael Fuchs and Cornelia-Hagen-Fuchs are figurative painters using old masters’ techniques, as well as her brother Clemens Fuchs.
Her educational background is in Fashion Design which led her to work in the film industry in costume. Drawing and painting were always a constant in her life. Her father was her first teacher in the fundamentals of figurative drawing and painting. Through her brother, Leni Fuchs was introduced to the sight-size method at Charles H. Cecil Studios (Florence, Italy). This way of painting drastically changed her own approach to the craft. The old masters’ techniques are foundational when it comes to her painting, although she likes a contemporary feel to her work.
